This report is based on the author’s business escort interpreting experience at Aviko Food Processing Cooperation, and he introduces the task from the perspective of an interpreter, whose duty is to be the communicator between the Chinese factory and the foreign visiting delegates during the factory visit, business conference and banquet reception. It includes five major parts: background introduction,task description, interpreting process, interpreting case analysis and the conclusion of the interpreting practice.The first part is an explicit introduction to the interpreting task, which is about the author’s work at Aviko Food Processing Cooperation as an interpreter during the visit paid by the Holland headquarters to audit the operation. In the second part, the task is further introduced from the perspective of the interpreting audience. The third part is interpreting process description, which describes the whole interpreting activity as interpreting preparation, interpreting process and interpreting feedback. In the forth part, the author analyzes some typical cases in the interpreting practice by applying the interpretive theory in the difficulties encountered during the process of the task, such as cross-cultural communication, unpredictability and untranslatability, and he has managed to apply the strategies of explaining while interpreting and omitting or necessary adding. The last part is the conclusion of the interpreting practice, which explains the requirements of being a business interpreter and also emphasizes the practical experience gained from the task.The practical experience is an essential part of learning interpretation, and the interpreter should accumulate experience continually to improve the interpreting ability.
