Development of cross-cultural communication can no longer be regulated, so the importance of translation as a tool or a carrier of cross-cultural communication is growing fast at the time of vibrant transnational communication. This report mainly describes one of the author’s real escort interpreting practices in ICCAME 2014 as one of the interpreter volunteers. The whole report contains consecutive interpreting of a lecture and escort interpreting of daily conversations. It focuses on analyzing difficulties in the task with Skopos theory and two interpreting skills—Omission and Amplification and coming up with solutions so as to offer valuable experience and guidance to the future interpreting activities.This paper mainly involves five parts: the first part is introduction containing background information,objectives of the task and significance of the task. The second part describes the task, involving task information and requirements from the entrusting party. The third part is interpreting process which described in accordance with the sequence: before interpreting, while interpreting and after interpreting.The fourth part chiefly carries through analyses based on Skopos theory and interpreting skills of Omission and Amplification then proposes several solutions coinciding with the problems and mistakes appeared in interpreting process. The last part plays a role of summarization which shows a concrete conclusion made by the author summing up something needed to be improved and something should be carefully dealt with based on quality control measures and feedback from the client.
