| This practice report is based on the author’s tourism interpreting experience during a visit of a Dutch tourist to the South Lake Park in April 2017.The South Lake Park was founded in 1933 and was one of the most important cultural landscapes and carriers in Changchun during the Manchukuo period.The guide gave a precise introduction on all the attractions and scenic spots in the South Lake Park and also provided a followup narration on the history background of the park and the stories of the dominating figures relevant to it.A great deal of contents in the tour commentary are rich in cultural meaning.Meanwhile,there are big differences exist on literary form between Chinese and English commentary.Therefore,recordings and transcript on the author’s interpreting were made to conduct careful analysis on the prominent problems exposed during the interpreting process as well as the corresponding coping strategies for the problems.The report is composed of three main parts.In the first part,the author gives a detailed description of the interpreting background and the its whole process.The preparation and post-task evaluation are also fully expounded in this part.The second part puts emphasis on the analysis of the transcript of the interpreting.The author sets forth the analysis from three perspectives including lexis,syntax and style.The third part is about the analysis of interpreting examples.Typical problems are analyzed and classified.In light of certain theories of interpreting,corresponding strategies and tactics are put forward to deal with the problems respectively.The aim of this practice report is to obtain effective solutions and coping strategies on prominent problems reflected during the author’s interpreting process,and in the meantime,provide referential values for other interpreting learners.Through this practice report,the author found out her deficiency on interpreting practice and also made clear what endeavors she should make to be an interpreter. |
