At the end of the 18 th century, with the rise of Evangelical Revival movement, the protestant began to take overseas as a missionary direction. As the birthplace of the large-scale missionary activities undertaken by protestant, the United Kingdom has maintained a leading position in the "Great Century". The London Missionary Society was founded in 1795, it is one of the most influential missionary organizations during that time,most of its activities spread throughout the British colonies, it has played an important role in the maintenance of British colonial rule and its leadership in missionary activities.Missionary activities taken in the South Pacific is an important attempt which the London Missionary Society has made in the late 18 th century. After nearly a century’s efforts, the London Missionary Society’s missionaries spread Christianity to Tahiti, Huaheine, Moorea and other places in the South Pacific successfully. With religious zeal in the spread of Christianity to the south Pacific, those Christians brought the advanced western civilization to the local society and established an extensive and profound contact with the aboriginal.The ultimate goal of the London Missionary Society is to spread the Gospel to the south Pacific, but in the process of this religious activity, a series of unreligious behavior promote the development of the local society in the end.
