| Nowadays, the discipline of translation develops in full swing. But limited to a short development time, it is still a new discipline. Translation method has promoted to the brand new level of analyzing discourse. Discourse consists of basic units that own their own meanings. Whether these units are translated well directly affect the completion of the whole text. Meanwhile, the overall logical meaning of text is closely related to the internal interaction between the clauses. This relationship is cohesive relation which is the main topic of the paper. English and Chinese have different manifestation, which is an obstacle for transformation of these two kinds of language. To transform Chinese(parataxis-prominent) into English(hypostasis-prominent) is to extract semantic relations then demonstrate in the form of structural relationships. Cohesion plays the tallest dynamic role in the translation process. The quality of cohesion directly determines the quality of the translation.The application of method of cohesion in translating needs two parts of work: to the structural, guarantee the completeness of the text to be translated, and to the semantic,ensure the readability and accuracy of the translation. Cohesion is not a simple connection concept. It’s a kind of method that planning the whole passage with details through the full.Based on the "work report of government of Longnan in 2014", this article analyzes and summarizes the specific application of the method of cohesion in political text from the semantic and structural level respectively. The paper is written to provide a paper of reference about the way of translating this kind of text. |
