Comparing with accurate numbers, approximate numbers are uesd to represent the figures that people don’t know, don’t want to say or feel unnecessary to be given precisely. They are used widely in the daily communication and expression. However this grammar item hasn’t been paid enough attention in foreign Chinese teaching.Based on the contrastive analysis, interlanguage theory and error analysis theory, this essay studies on classifications of chinese approximate numbers using errors made by foreign students from central Asia according to literature, comparative analysis and errors analysis, revaling the reasons and providing the suggestions for teaching and studying.The essay has four parts: Introduction explain the purpose and signification of topic choosing, presenting the relative achievements of predecessors from both ontology and foreign chinese teaching and introducing research content, source material,theoretical basis and research methods of the article. The first chapter introduct the kind of expression of chinese approximate numbers, and divided the collected approximate numbers using errors of central Asia foreigh studen ts into there categories: extra use, wrong order and misuse,analyzing and correcting those errors combining ontology research results.The second chapter reveal the reasons why Asia students made those mistakes on approximate numbers using--negative transfer caused by Rassian, imperfect textbook and others factors.The third chapter proposed the specific suggestions to teaching, textbook compiling and studying based on the first two chapters. We hope that those suggestions can hope them grasp approximate numb ers and use them properly. The last part states the conclusion the deficiencies of essay.
