A Report On The Translation Of 2013 Work Report Of Shangrao Municipal Government

This is a translation report with the original text from “2013 Work Report of Shangrao Municipal Government”. The second part of the Work Report, which I choose to translate, mainly introduces the plans, policies and development direction for the year 2013 in nine fields, including industry, agriculture, service industry, social affairs etc.The translation report has four chapters. The first chapter is task description, which mainly introduces the background information, feature and significance of the task. The second chapter is process description which includes three parts: pre-translation preparation, process of translation and after-translation arrangement. The third part is case analysis, which is the major part of the report. Firstly it presents the translation difficulties due to the differences between Chinese and English languages and cultures; then it introduces the adaptation theory; finally, it illustrates with some examples how to translate the Work Report on lexical level and syntactic level under the guidance of the adaptation theory. The fourth part is conclusion, which makes a summary of the translation report and gives some reflections on the translation.
