This is a project report on the translation of Poyang Lake Eco-Economic Zone Planning, approved by the State in 2009, from which the translator selects Chapter One, Chapter Two, and Chapter Four for inquiry translation, and then draws a conclusion of the source text features, values of economic texts translation, and problems encountered during the translation, thus working out the applicable solutions thereto. The source text belongs to economic documents whose main purpose is to effectively convey information of the source texts. Skopos theory is the theoretical foundation of this paper. The author uses the Skopos theory to perform an analysis of the source text and give a discussion and a summary of the translation principles, strategies and techniques in the whole translation process, therefore, highlighting the theoretical and practical significance for further translation of the similar text types.This report mainly includes five chapters: task description, introduction of the source text, translation process, case study and summary. The first part is the task description that presents the background, significance and structure of the translation report. The second is the introduction to the source text and its stylistic, linguistic and translating characters. In the third chapter, the translation process is discussed in the way of the theoretical preparation, translating and revision. The forth chapter, as a core part, is the case study of the translation strategies and skills of translating difficulties in the aspects of lexicon, syntax and discourse. In the last chapter, the translator draws a conclusion of the findings, limitations and suggestion for further research on translation.
