With the tendency of worldwide fervor in learning Chinese, the shortage of teachers of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language(TCFL) remains. Currently, it is difficult to enhance teachers’ professional skills and overall quality due to the limited time and resources. As a result, lots of novice teachers are on the lack of advanced teaching skills and their weak points cannot be improved immediately, which has become the principal contradiction that restricts the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in China. In this paper, researches and discussions are through observing three novice teachers’ lecturing styles of the College of International Education of CQU. Combining the present teaching situation with the class observation, and taking class arrangement and lecturing into consideration with the help of the qualitative observation and analysis, then make the quantitative analysis by Micro-teaching Evaluation Scale, and interviewing novice teachers and students.Combining the results of the the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis as well as interviews, here comes the final conclusions of the class observation.According to the research of the teaching skills, we draw the conclusion that there are three main problems. Firstly, the lectures are lack of appeal. The principle of “less teaching, more exercising” is not applied. The interactions between teachers and students are few. Secondly, the way of questioning students is monotonous. Teachers are lack of skills of how to ask questions and the students are lack of time to think about the questions, which leads to less feedback of the narrowed questions. Lastly, teachers cannot take all the different-leveled students into consideration, which results in ignoring some of the feedback from students. The class arrangement is unscientific, the flexibility of control the whole class is still unsatisfactory. Finally, the measures to solve the problems above is detailed discussed in this paper. Following are the scientific methods on improving teaching skills.(1)Lecturing advice, fully-prepared before class is needed. Taking speaking speed, vocabularies, tone and the volume into consideration with the emotion and the content of one’s lecture is needed. Make examples to explain clearly. Stress the important part properly. Combine lecturing and dong exercise together helps. Pay attention to the contents, time and the way of doing exercises and giving lecture. Make the lecture various, self-consistent and step by step, pay attention to the students’ feedback and the combination of other skills.(2) Questioning advice, make the questions aimed at all the students. Make the purpose of the question clear. The questions should be neither too difficult nor too easy, and the frequency properly. Be creative about the angle of the questions. Enough time for the students to think. Questioning and inspiring the students timely. Make comments and conclusions after questioning.(3) Arrangement advice, teachers should know and respect the students, set up a strict and well-organized teaching rules. Establish the concept of student-oriented. Class arrangements and activities should be well-organized. Make full use of teaching institution to react all the emergency situation.According the research above, I hope it can help to improve and enhance the teaching skills in teaching Chinese as a Foreign language.
