With the development of information technology, journalism has become one of the most important parts of our daily life. This paper is a translation report on Chapter 1 and Chapter 7 of Journalism: A Very Short Introduction from Oxford University Very Short Introductions series(VSI series). These two chapters introduced the history and ethical issue of journalism. As one of the VSI series, the aim of this book is to introduce journalism industry to general readers with plain language.The translator adopted Katharina Reiss and Hans J. Vemmer’s Skopos theory to guide this task. Through analysis, under the guidance of Skopos theory, translator could apply different translation strategies to deal with the problems caused by the terms, long sentences and culture backgrounds, making the translation clear and readable. This report consists of four parts: the description of the translation task, the description of the translation process, case studies and the summary of unresolved problems and enlightenments during the translation process.
