In recent years,with the rapid development of educational undertakings,in order to expand the openness and enhance the international influence of education in Chengdu,the Municipal Government clearly puts forward a strategy to take advanced educational concepts of other countries as reference,so as to facilitate the educational practice of Chengdu and stimulate the development of internationalization in education.The material of this translation report Learning outside of the Classroom is a government document provided by Ofsted of the UK.This document evaluates the importance of such learning in primary and secondary schools and colleges.It identifies strengths and weaknesses in practice and shows how schools and colleges overcome common barriers that can limit successful learning outside the classroom.As a translation task commissioned by the Chengdu Education Bureau,this document aiming to provide reference for establishing educational regulations of Chengdu.This English to Chinese translation report systematically and comprehensively analyses the translation project mainly from five major parts,including:general introduction,procedure description,theoretical ground,case study and translation strategies adopted,and summary.This report detailedly describes the process of translation which includes preparation before translation,application of CAT to translation process and post-translation.Besides,the author regards the German Functionalist Skopos Theory as theory guidance and analyzes the problems and corresponding translation strategies at lexical level and syntactical level during translation.Finally,the author indicates some shortcomings in this translation practice after inspecting the whole process and gives related suggestions for further improvements of similar translation texts.Through the analysis of this translation practice,the author reaches the following conclusions:(1)Sufficient preparations before translation and a sound proofreading system after translation play an important role in improving the quality of translation task;(2)The application of CAT can help the translator save time and increase efficiency during translation;(3)The translator should combine the translation theory with practice,and different translation strategies should be used for different source texts so as to improve the translation quality.
