| The vocabulary of Chinese written language for TCSL is a critical part of study for foreign students. It’s not an easy part and there isn’t enough focus on it in the existing teaching syllabus. This essay will discuss the research of vocabulary lists of written language for TCSL, based on previous literature, and relevant syllabus and teaching materials.As the basis of the research, the writer created the fundamental vocabulary of Chinese writing language, including 7046 words, based on the existing written language dictionary and document vocabulary lists. The writer then, following on that, generated the teaching version of the vocabulary of Chinese writing language which includes 1398 words, and a set of the representative teaching textbook of the vocabulary of Chinese writing language, including 2740 words. By comparing and contrasting, there are 850 words missed from the teaching version of the vocabulary of Chinese writing language.The teaching version of the vocabulary of Chinese writing language comes from 3 parts, which are, the 1first part, teaching version of the fundamental vocabulary of Chinese writing language, in this part, writer included all 1398 words completely. The second part comes from the missed 850 words. 399 words are finally be included by a double selection of the writer. The third part is from the practical writing experience of the writer, in this part, 11 more words are included. The ultimate edition i.e. the teaching version of the vocabulary of Chinese writing language therefore includes 1797 words, adding together all three parts. It is classifies, considering the nature of difficulty, as 4 levels, 200 words for the 1st level 400 for the 2nd 500 for the 3rd, and 697 for the 4th level.The teaching version of the vocabulary of Chinese writing language is an independent material that can be used by not only TCSL, but also compiling of teaching textbooks and outlining syllabus of new vocabularies. |
