A Study Of The Queen Of Nefertiti Participation In Political Affairs In Ancient Egypt

The queen of Nefertiti is the wife of Akhenaten who ruled Egypt during the 18 th Dynasty.She is famous for her unique beauty in the world.At the same time she is known for the pharaoh to dote on her. In the process of religious reformation of Akhenaten,Nefertiti actively help her husband. As to say, she has a great influence on the politics,economic and culture in the 18 th Dynasty.Continue to have impact on bureau after her husband’s death.She was a queen who is mightier than ever, like the Empress Dowager. So, how is Nefertiti’s participation in politics? What is effect of her on the ancient women suffrage?It needs a further study.In this article,I use Gender Theory to explore the issue.This article contains four parts,including Nefertiti’s family and backgroud, the Queen of Nefertiti participation in politics and the factors influencing social attitude toward women’s participation in politics in Egypt. It is a study on the question of suffrage.It is very useful for the study of women in ancient China.First, this papar discusses Nefertiti’s family and backgroud, There is no consensus about her origins, This article first discusses the family background about her origins, now there are three main kinds of popular views, to be a foreign princess, to be a daughter of the royal ministers, to be a royal priess, this paper analyzes three kinds of views, my point of view is Nefertiti isTadukhepa, the princess of Mitanni.There are historical evidence to suppurt my piont of view.Second, the ariticle analyzes Nefertiti’s participation in politics, including Egyptian society’s attitude to her politics.There are a lot of relief, frescoes and written evidence that preserved. Through mastery of historical materials, this paper draws a conclusion: Nefeititi relys on the authority of pharaoh and plays their political influence, traditional forces opposite women’s participation in politics in Egypt.Finally, the author analysis the Egyptian social attitude toward women in politics.The essay discusses three aspects,mainly from Egypt religious theology,women’s present status, and the gender view,and come to the following conclusions:Egypt religious theology provide for women participate in governent and political affairs, and such a male dominated society in Egypt, women’s participation in politics is hostile, can only exist in a short time.
