Ethno-specified meanings is culture-loaded as reflecting country or nation’s history,culture,customs. Ever since ancient time,Japan have been a neighbor to China, the culture between those two nation always be such same,especially in the part of language. Plants is related to human life which been added sort of culture-loaded meaning besides actual meaning since human social growing. Discovering the difference of ethno-specified meaning in plant words between China and Japan are not only the way of learning the situation in using language,also are a way of finding out culture background behind plant words, knowing the difference between nation character.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter analyze the ethno-specified meanings’ research statement,which combine with the relevant research results in China and abroad,clarify research purposes of this paper,establish a differences system of ethno-spcified meaning between China and Japan includingExclusive ethno-specified,Overlap ethno-specified, Opposite ethno-specified. The second chapter selected 21 representative plant words with ethno-specified meaning as research object,combined with previous research results to analyze the differences of ethno-specified meaning in plant words between China and Japan from the poetry/ancient paper,ect.The third chapter analyze the reason of the system of differences forming reasons are as follows :1.The different thinking patterns,2.The different aesthetic consciousness,3.Homophonic cultural differences. The fourth chapter making a survey according to the differences of ethno-specified meaning in plant words between China and Japan,analyzing the situation about how well Chinese learner from Japan learned about ethno-specified meaning in plant words in China,then draw up the corresponding ethno-specified meanings in teaching Chinese as a second language with examples lessons.This paper not only makes a summary of the ethno-specified meaning in plant words between China and Japan,but also makes a new way for the teaching of Chinese language in the future.
