Chinese Teaching for foreign students in Higher Phase is different from other stages, except all kinds of the language sill courses, the schools also opened a curriculum culture courses. After enter the phase of education with record of formal schooling, universities opened all kinds of Chinese language and professional courses for students, Chinese literature course is the major of Chinese language core curriculum.This paper aims to investigate the present situation of Chinese literature course for undergraduate foreign students who are majoring in Chinese language, and find the deficiencies of the course. In order to have a more scientific curriculum design for this course, the author has combined with the teaching theory, curriculum theory and the previous research results.There are seven parts of this paper. The fourth and fifth chapters are the most important part of this paper:1. Introduction, it summarizes the significance of choosing this topic, the purpose of the research, the research content, research methods and the current research results.2. The demonstration of the importance of Chinese Literature Curriculum in the status of undergraduate education.This chapter respectively from the point of view: the relationship between the Chinese literature and Chinese culture and the relationship between Chinese literature and Chinese. The author have demonstrated that the Chinese literature course is very important in undergraduate education.3. The results of investigation on those universities,including course opening, study of the teaching object, the selection of teaching materials, teaching methods, homework and test and evaluation the author, and also the analysis of the survey, the author found some problems existing in the teaching of the course.4. The curriculum design for Chinese literature course, it is based on the results of the survey, combined with the theory and practice of teaching. Include the nature of the course,teaching objective, teaching contents and teaching hours arrangements.5. The teaching principles and methods of Chinese literature courses for foreign students.6. The suggestion for the assessment and testing methods of the course.Conclusion part summarizes the whole paper’s contents,also points out some deficiency of this paper.
