This translation project is selected from http://www.dwstravel.com /May, 2015, and it is about the introduction to the scenic spots in the Dawei Mountain. The Introduction to the Dawei Mountain belongs to tourist text. The source text has some scenic spots names and introduction with rich Chinese cultural connotations, while the C-E Translation to The Introduction to the Dawei Mountain intends to provide tourist information and promote cultural exchanges. According to the Text Typology, the type of the text decides the translation methods, while the Skopos theory holds that the expected target also decides the translation methods. These two theories provide the theory basis for the C-E translation of The Introduction to the Dawei Mountain.This paper will study from three aspects, the translation of names of scenic spots, the translation of other informative content and the translation of persuasive content. Because of specificities of tourist text,that is informative and persuasive, this paper holds that the translator should take suitable translation methods according to the features of the source text when translating. When translating the informative passage with rich cultural background information, the author holds that literal translation is suitable; when translating persuasive passage, in order to show the persuasive function, the author holds that translating and editing is approaching, which is suitable for target language learners and will not lose the meaning of the source text. At the same time, the author hopes that the C-E translation can promote the cultural exchanges and spread the cultural characteristics of the home town.
