Studying Chinese characters is one of the common difficulties students face whi le mastering the Chinese language. At the same time we should note that students w ith Chinese character background have certain benefit in comparison with European s tudents with no Chinese character background.Chinese characters influenced the formation of the Korean language that is why Korean students do not have any obstacles studying Chinese characters.At the same time, we should admit that Chinese characters in Korean and Chin ese characters in China have significant differences. If the students do not know abo ut this peculiarity, it can lead to the mistakes in writing Chinese characters.In our diploma thesis, we are going to analyze the Chinese characters in Korean, point out their similarities and differences, try to find out the ways to reduce mistak es in writing characters by Korean students, create an effective method of teaching Chinese characters to Korean students.This diploma thesis is divided into five parts. The first part of the research intr oduces the object of the research, it’s aim and significance, methods of research.The second part describes Chinese and Korean characters situation, explains the difference in using Chinese characters in China and Korea. Chinese-Korean characte rs are divided into two types. The first type are antonyms, synonyms and homonyms. The second type are the characters with different wring and meaning. This analysis is to help us understand and extract similarities and dissimilarities of the Chinese-Ko rean characters.The third part is dedicated to the analysis of the negative influence of Korean c haracters while studying Chinese characters. From here we can deeply understand th e origin of possible difficulties, the reasons of mistakes in studying Chinese characte rs, this will help us to find a proper teaching strategy.The fourth part focuses on the strategies of teaching based on the teaching mate rials, students’ needs and present methods.The last part of our diploma thesis sums up the results of the research, points o ut the flaws and drawbacks of the teaching.
