With the progression of China’s economy and the comprehensive national strength, the cultural industry has become dramatically vivid all around the world. As the Confucius Institutes heating up and the number of Chinese language learner increasing, the group of people taking HSK exams expand. The successful development of HSK is not only a sign of Chinese culture promotion, but a significant achievement in the field of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. As a popular language, the learning and examination of Chinese language demonstrate a huge potential. Chinese language learners are expecting to get their learning outcomes recognized through an authoritative language proficiency test. Therefore, HSK exams are in dire need and researches in all aspects of HSK are getting increasingly necessary.In this thesis, it is collected that the test papers of HSK Grade4-6, with a total of 468 copies, from October 2014 to June 2015 in the test center of Moscow State Linguistic University Confucius Institute. The thesis aims to summarize students’ writing types and causes of errors by statistical classification, descriptive analysis, sample analysis and comparative analysis from the perspective of vocabulary and grammar, additionally, to propose practical suggestions in some combinations of teaching and learning strategies.This paper is divided into six chapters. Chapter one-Introduction describes the significance of the topic, research object, research ideas and methods, the overview of HSK researches, writing case studies and research bias. Chapter two consists of writing errors of HSK Grade4-6, the introduction of new HSK exams for Grade4-6, the classification of writing errors and the analysis of causes of errors. Chapter three analyzes writing errors in HSK exams of Grade4-6 in the aspects of vocabulary and grammar. In addition, it explains the lexical and grammatical difficulties as well as the distribution of vocabulary and grammar errors in tests of HSK Grade4-6 so that fossilization could be detected. Chapter four is the discourse error analysis in HSK Grade4-6. This chapter focuses on summarizing the causes for errors in discourse with the help of error filtration and description. Chapter five is the basic format error analysis in HSK Grade4-6. In this section, some common errors of basic format are listed, which indicates their distribution in HSK Grade4-6 tests. Chapter six includes some teaching suggestions in Chinese writing regarding vocabulary, grammar, discourse and writing basic format. From the perspective of teaching strategies and learning strategies in vocabulary, grammar and discourse, some suggestions and recommendations are put forward concerning a four-point teaching basic writing formats. In the conclusion part, the research outcomes, setbacks and limitations are demonstrated.This thesis is expected to offer teaching strategies to teachers tutoring students in HSK Grade4-6. As well as providing effective methods, the teaching process is supposed to promote the teaching of Chinese writing as to improve the writing ability of Russian learners.
