In 2007, Harbin Normal University and Daejin University built Confucius Institute together, which promoted the further cooperation in the area of education between China and South Korea. Confucius Institute also plays a magnificent role in assisting Harbin Normal University to promote Chinese traditional culture. During the exchange activities of Chinese teaching, teachers from both nations teach Chinese in a lively and innovative way. However, currently the teaching is still in the beginning stage, and there is not much teaching mode and resource to borrow from other nations. This paper focus on the current Chinese-teaching situation in ten high schools under Daejin Confucius Institute. In this paper, teaching advice is provided based on the analysis of questionnaires issued in these high schools. The paper will focus on the analysis of research purposes, research significance and research direction. In this chapter, I combined my study with previous research results and reviewed literatures, so as to consolidate the theoretical basis of the paper. I constructed a conceptual foundation for the body part of the paper, so as to strengthen the theories involved. I made a general introduction from three aspects, i.e. brief introduction of foreign Chinese teaching, of Daejin Confucius Institute, and of the high schools under Daejin Confucius Institute. As to the high schools part, I divided them into regular high schools and foreign language teaching high schools, and then further divided them into public and private high schools. According to my teaching experience, I designed the questionnaire, and made a survey of the Chinese-teaching situation in the high schools under Daejin Confucius Institute. The questionnaire was designed based on the investigation purposes and significance via visiting and interviewing students and teachers. Analysis was carried out in five aspects, i.e. cooperation modes, students’ attitude, material usage, course setup and teaching effect. Original data collected via questionnaire was analyzed. Problems of Chinese teaching in high schools under Daejin Confucius Institute and solutions to these problems were discussed, in order to make a summary about the problems existed in cooperation modes, students’ attitudes, material usage, course setup and teaching effect, and to provide solutions to problems above as well.As a volunteer in Confucius Institute overseas, based on my working experience and analysis of the current teaching situation of the ten high schools under Daejin Confucius Institute, I studied practical problems in each high school and provide relevant opinions and suggestion according to the analyzing results, hoping this paper would lead to a further exploration and thinking about the existing problems to some certain extend.
