Tourism texts with the features of short and vividness are easy to understand, and the information is quite abundant featuring literariness,artistry, publicity and advertisement. Generally speaking, the tourism text is a kind of public readings delivering the information and attracting the visitors. Therefore, as for advertising scenic spots, motivating visitors’ interest and developing the tourism, it’s important to do some researches on the E-C translation of English tourism texts.With the deepening of China’s opening-up, the overseas travel quickly becomes the best choice of people and an inseparable part of people’s life, so the foreign tourist information becomes an important guide for the outbound travel. However, the researches most scholars do are the relevant problems to the translation of tourism texts, or the C-E translation of tourism texts. Based on the translation variation theory as well as taking the characteristics of tourism texts into consideration, this paper takes specific examples from the E-C translation of tourism texts to discuss the E-C translation methods. The author hopes this research can provide some reference for the E-C translation practice.Besides introduction and conclusion, this paper includes another three chapters. Introduction focuses on the current research related to thispaper. The first chapter introduces the source and the requirement of the task; the second chapter casts light upon the preparation for the tourism texts, translation tools and the translation theory; the third chapter conducts analysis on the E-C translation methods of English tourism texts with specific examples, which are selected translation, addition,adaptation and condensation. Conclusion summarizes the main ideas of the whole thesis.
