A Research Of Eastern Zhou Period Pottery Ocarina

This paper takes the Eastern Zhou Dynasty pottery ocarina as research object, including ones that are archaeologically discovered in Henan, Shandong and Hubei, along with some handed-down and recorded ocarinas. This paper obtains first hand data through practically sound detecting some of the archaeologically discovered ocarinas, collating date of ones that are unreachable at the same time, on this basis starts a comprehensive exposition through the imitation experiment,comparative study and other methods. Including shape classification, inheritance and development, musical performance such as scale, tone, tonality, fingering combination of ocarina.Focusing on ZhengHan Gucheng Zheng Guo sacrificial site and Zhangqiu girl mountain warring states tomb, launches research on the combination of ocarina and together unearthed ritual musical instruments, tries to discuss the rites and music function of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty ocarina. Hope to fill the gap in systematic research of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty ocarina on certain degree, enrich and supplement the music studies of the pre Qin Period.
