Entrusted by Liaoning People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Country, the interpreter has done a musical master class English-Chinese consecutive interpreting on the establishment of Chopin Art Promotion Center in Shenyang in October of 2014. The students in this class were mainly primary students with insufficient understanding, and the masters were from Poland with unqualified English capacity. Therefore the interpretation must focus on the application of children-oriented English-Chinese consecutive-interpreting skills about music. After transcribing and analyzing, the problems of the insufficient understanding ability of the students, the disturbance from the audience, the interpreting of the music and professional terms in the music have shown out. However, the interpreter has utilized the skills of interpreting the musical terms into general words, interpreting the difficult words and sentences into simple ones, using repetition properly to improve understanding and using questions properly to ensure students understanding to solve these problems. At present, the reports concerning with music interpreting are really hard to search. This report is expected to bring some references and reflection for later studies of children music class English-Chinese consecutive interpreting.
