In the context of globalization, translation, especially interpreting has played an increasingly important role in international arena. With the deepening exchanges between China and foreign countries, the exchanges in the field of music are becoming more and more frequent,so the music interpreting has become much more important. This thesis is an interpreting practice report from the Third GOSMONIC International Youth Music Festival(held in Rizhao of China). The interpreter served as the consecutive interpreter of the piano Master Class and the cello Master Class. The interpreter recorded the whole teaching activity which lasted about three hours with the consent of the two experts. After the interpreting activity, the interpreter finished the recording materials and converted the audio into text form;and then analyzed the features of music interpreting, interpreting environment and the roles of the interpreter.Based on an analysis of the process of the interpreting task, the interpreter discussed the problems illustrated with specific interpreting examples which exist in interpreting activities, including unfamiliarity of technical terms, information overload, information loss, speakers' lack of fluency and non-verbal information.Based on three aspects of interpretive theory of translation: comprehension,deverbalization,re-expression,the interpreter put forward coping solutions according to specific contexts, including asking for clarification, simplification of over-loaded information, supplement of implicit information, reorganization of information and inter-semiotic interpreting. Finally,by participating in the music interpreting practice, the interpreter summarized some features and coping solutions of music interpreting and put forward some suggestions for music interpreting in the light of the problems in the practice. It is hoped that it could provide references for the future development of music interpreting.
