In the context of "One Belt One Road", it’s of vital importance to conduct cultural communication with surrounding countries. Kutsi was a place where cultural exchanges once were frequent since it was the only intersection place of ancient India, Greece, Persia and Han Tang civilizations in the world. In this regard, a successful translation of Kutsi culture can provide a reference to cultural exchanges. Based on the documentary commentary of Kutsi, Kutsi, the translator has translated some typical chapters of the documentary with the help of Susan Bassnett’s cultural translation theory and ananysized on the cultural exchanges function of the translation. Focusing on the basic translation unit culture, the translator is supposed to give a full play to his/her subjectivity by using various translation strategies, mainly foreignization and partly domestication included, in a attempt to avoid losing of cultural connotation and achieve cultural functional equivalence to a maximum extent between the source and target language. Besides, as an audiovisual context, the author should also take into consideration of its language characteristics and be in line with accurate English expressions to smooth over understanding obstacles, making an attempt of improving Kutsi’s cultural reputation and cultural identification among people from distinct language environment and eventually rendering the Kutsi culture "go global",The thesis falls into five parts. The first chapter is for background information; the second explains the main contents of Susan Bassnett’s cultural translation theory, namely, including the basic translation unit culture, cultural functional equivalence, and translator’s subjectivity. The third parts introduce choices of strategies from perspective of cultural translation theory, mainly foreignization supplemented by domestication. While the emphasis the fourth chapter analyzes the specific cases to the cultural words and sentences level. And the conclusion ends at the final part.
