Though interview interpretation’s development is very quickly, the research on this field is very limited. The core of Functional Theories of German School is the Skopos Theory, which is the theoretical principle of this thesis. The Skopos Theory points out that each transitional action has its own intended purpose, and this purpose decides which translation method will the interpreter going to choose. The main purpose of the interview interpretation is to help people to communicate, so as to make sure that the content of interview could be spread in time. The interpreter can take varies translation methods to achieve the purpose. The author finds that under the guidance of Skopos Theory, when the interpreter has extracted the exact idea of the speech, he could chooses the proper translation method and give a quality output which makes sense in target culture. The paper will introduce the background, method and significance of the study, as well as the origin, development and the three main rules of the Skopos Theory. Based on all of these, the emphasis is put on the study of how the methods are applied, with some representative examples picked up from the Chinese interpretation of 2015 Ma Yun’s English interview at the Davos in 2015.
