A Report On Interview Interpreting For The Participants Of 2017 Asian Economic Symposium

2017 Asian Economic Symposium was held in Guilin,November 18 th.The interview for participants was conducted at the Ronghu Conference Hall in Guilin Hotel.More than 40 participants from China,Japan,South Korea,Sri Lanka and Thailand attended the symposium to discuss the theme of Inclusive Growth and Integration of Asia Economy in the perspective of “One Belt and One Road Initiative”.On the afternoon of the opening day,the author served as one interpreter for the interview with representatives of four countries and a reporter of China News Service in Guangxi.Based on the interpreting task,the report introduces the background and features of the task,describes the advance preparation and the task evaluation,and discusses some problems and solutions in the process of interview interpreting through analyzing cases and combining with related theories.Some difficult and typical cases have been selected as the object of study so as to analyze the problems of the speakers' accent,intensive information,pretermission and errors as well as improper expressions.In order to solve these issues,amplification,simplification and paraphrasing and other strategies are put forward.At last,there is a conclusion that is aimed to help the interpreting practice.What's more,there are some basic requirements for a qualified interpreter including solid linguistic competence,rich encyclopedic knowledge,outstanding note-taking ability and memory,mastery of interpreting skills and good psychological quality.
