| The text of this translation project includes brochures of four real estate investment projects which are provided by an Australia investment consulting company named Westlink Alliance. The four brochures are concerned with the introductions of four projects named New Charsfield, M/25, United Richmond and The Coach House, which mainly introduce the buildings" interior design, exterior surroundings, locations, lifestyles, cooperation teams, etc. The translator did English-into-Chinese translation of these four brochures in this project. Based on this translation practice, taking the subjectivity of translator as the guiding principle, this report is supposed to analyze and conclude the translation project from three aspects, including translation of titles, translation of words and translation of sentences. After the analysis of original text and translation work, the translator discusses the difference between source language and target language via translation strategy of translator’s subjectivity.The result shows that the difficulties in title translation include how to convey the "implication" of titles, separation and integration of the source language and supplement of information according to language context. Word translation skills contain meaning transformation and word formation, while positive and negative translation, word order adjustment and rewriting sentence pattern can be applied to sentence translation. To enhance the quality of translation, the translator not only needs to gain an in-depth understanding of the advertising text in both the source language and target language, but also has to consider the context of co-text. Through analysis of translation strategies, some feasible suggestions to the translation and study on advertising texts could be provided. |
