The Silk Road is a world heritage with a history of more than two thousand years, contains a huge historical value and cultural charm.And The promotion of national strategy of China,One Belt and One Road(BAR) attracted the world’s attention to it.In this context,it is a very important task to documentary makers that how to show the Silk Road’s glamour and the spiritual meaning of BAR with making better use of documentary audio-visual language.Documentary audio-visual language includes special artistic charm, it is not only show the theme of documentary, but also the perfect means of documentary ideology.Documentaries the New Silk Road,as the representative works about the Silk Road co-produced by CCTV and NHK in 2005,is selected as the main research object.In the article, analyzes the differences of audio-visual language between CCTV version and NHK version which have same main themes.By Taking some excellent cases as example,various audio-visual language elements will be analyzed,studied and compared.Besides,their features and deep connotations will be summarized finally,for point out the disadvantages of audio-visual language system in CCTV version,explores the merits and innovation of that in NHK version,and its brand experiences.The thesis aimed at providing some theoretical basis and references for Chinese Silk Road documentaries’creation and study.The paper is made up of six chapters.The first chapter is paper’s introduction.The second chapter is about the current research and the introduction of the Silk Road documentary’s current versions.The third, fourth and fifth chapters are main parts in the paper,analyzed the visual,auditory and montage’s features.The last chapter deeply summraizes the thesis and some beneficial enlightenment.
