As a golden road with strong cultural dissemination,the Silk Road has brought trade facilitation to Asia,Africa and Europe.It also embraces the exchange,collision and integration of multicultural communication and spreads the splendid Chinese civilization all over the world.Along with the development of “the Belt and Road”initiative,the Silk Road and the Silk Road Culture have been given new missions.Therefore,paying attention to the culture along the Silk Road and its cultural dissemination is of great practical significance for interpreting the national strategy and promoting cultural prosperity.Discussing how to promote the Silk Road Culture and the spirit of Silk Road heritage has become a research topic that has significance through documentary creation.Camels,the most important means of transportation on the ancient Silk Road,are the subject in“Camels on the Silk Road”.In this documentary,the changes of camel's role on the Silk Road has been observed and presented from ancient to modern times,the deep cultural significance of camels is pondered and explored.On the basis of the process of documentary creation,this paper explores how to use artistic techniques to express the Silk Road culture,which is beneficial for deeply excavating the artistic resources of the Silk Road and its cultural expression.This paper consists of four parts.The first part introduces the value of the documentary's topic selection,which is explains from three aspects: the theme selection from the perspective of mainstream culture,the exploration from the perspective of humanistic care,and the dissemination of “the Silk Road Culture” in the new period.The second part analyses creation skills of the documentary from three aspects: the documentary's reliability,audio-visual language expressions and narrative techniques.The third part extracts three cultural symbols with aesthetic intention in the visual system of the Silk Road—prosperous Dunhuang,camel bells on the Silk Road and camels in the desert,and analyzes respectively.The last part summarizes the shortcomings and deficiencies of this documentary.
