| Since 2004, more and more international conferences are held in Nanning every year for Nanning is the permanent venue of China-ASEAN Expo. In these international conferences, China-ASEAN Vocational Education Exhibition and Forum is a great event for China and ASEAN countries. Through holding conferences, people from different countries or regions can exchange their thoughts, introduce the latest results from related fields and discuss common problems still existing. To some extent, texts and speech transcripts play an important role in the conference and have great influence on country or regional publicity, communication and cooperation. Therefore, translation of texts and speech transcripts conforms to the development of the time.On the basis of texts and speech transcripts from the 2015 China-ASEAN Education Summit Forum and Forum of University Presidents and Entrepreneurs and translation practice during internship, this report focuses on introducing and summarizing some difficult points and problems in the process of translation, and then studies and discusses on some special cases including words or expressions with Chinese characteristics, non-subject sentences and complex sentences with the guidance of text category translation theory put forward by Peter Newmark.The author took part in the whole process of translation practice. In the process, the author recorded some difficult points and problems appeared in translation, then evaluated the texts by self, team members and professionals and finally got the target version with high rate of accuracy, which provided good materials for this translation report and will provide other translators with reference in the translation of texts and speech transcripts. |
