With the rapid development of digital era and the expanding of internet business,New Media emerged to break the traditional transmission modes of media information and bring great economic profits.Lots of technology companies set their sights on new media business and expected to be in line with international practice.Therefore,the author,commissioned by Beijing Baitu Interactive Technology Co.Ltd,undertook the translation of《新�'体综合运营管理平台白皮书》(New Media Integrated Operation Management Platform White Paper).The source text of 30thousand words was expected to be finished within three months.The author completed the task by herself and overcame the difficulties in translating by searching the internet and communicating with clients.In the whole process,the author grasped the knowledge of new media and concluded the translation strategies adopted to complete the translation.The report is divided into five parts: the first part is task description, which consists of introduction of text, reasons for text selection and the process of accepting the task, and linguistic features including general linguistic features of instruction books and specific linguistic features of New Media Integrated Operation Management Platform White Paper; the second part is the description of translation process, which is comprised of pre-translation preparations such as specialized knowledge accumulating and glossary making and translation process includingsolving problems by communicating with clients and refining the translation; the third part is case analysis, which covers introduction of translation variation theory,difficulties met in translating, such as difficulty in translating technical terms,difficulty in comprehending subtitles and difficulty in ambiguous sentences, and translation strategies of adaptation, trans-editing, and condensed translation adopted to overcome those difficulties. In parts four and five, there are implications and conclusion.
