A Reflective Research Report On The C-E Translation Of Huinan City Key Projects For Investment

With the development of China’s economy and the tendency of globalization, Chinese governments tend to attract foreign investment and resources to promote the economy as an important policy. At present, investment-inviting texts like project profiles are often found on governmental websites and in all kinds of investment promotion conferences. Project profiles concern more about one specific project. These texts are the target materials of the present study.Pragmatic translation studies have enjoyed great development in China; the translating of investment-inviting texts has not drawn wide attention, though. Fresh attempts are made to conduct analysis of investment-inviting texts, in hopes of summarizing the features of investment-inviting texts and proposing some strategies for translating such texts. In this thesis, on the basis of more than 10,000 words in the translation(C-E), the author defines logic relationships among the contents in the source language text, conveys the information accurately to the readers of the source language, and solves the problems in the translation by applying strategies of amplification, omission, division, combination and other kinds of strategies. Huinan City Key Projects for Investment plays an important role in the development of Huinan economy. The brochure includes much more achievements. Achievements will be realized to attract international businesses and investment and promote the development of the local economy.
