Report On C-E Translation Of The Investment-inviting Text Of Huai'an Economic And Technological Development Zone

With the deepening of reform and opening up and the continuous development of Chinese economy,many cities have set up their economic and technological development zones and started to invite investments.Under the background of the accelerated economic globalization,the investment-inviting texts of many Chinese cities need to be translated into English so as to attract investors from all over the world to promote the local economic development.This report is based on the Chinese-English translation practice of the investment-inviting text of Huai'an Economic and Technological Development Zone.And its purpose is to analyze the special characteristics of the investment-inviting material,generalize all the possible difficulties and the related translation strategies so as to propose several effective translation methods for the translation of investment-inviting texts under the guidance of Skopostheorie.This report consists of five sections.The first section is the description of the translation task.The second section is pre-translation,including the analysis of the textual features of the source text,reference of the parallel texts and the introduction of Skopostheorie.The third section is mainly about the translation methods the author took at the following three levels,namely,lexical,syntactical and textual,such as omission,restructuring,division and adding subjects.The fourth section is the summary of the post translation work.The fifth section is the conclusion of the whole translation process.
