Text Typology makes a classification of texts from the perspective of language function theory, and then puts forward some specific requirements for the translation of each text type. This thesis, with Reiss’s Text Typology as its theoretical guidance and the E-C translation of Journal of Finance and Accounting as its research object, analyzes the linguistic features and text types of finance and economics articles so as to explore feasible methods for their translation. Chapter one is an introduction of this paper. The chapter two is about literature review, which summarizes some former studies on the translation of finance and economics texts from other scholars and points out the research status. Chapter three introduces the theoretical basis of Reiss’s Text Typology Theory and his three text types, and elaborates the linguistic features and language functions of each text type as well as the translation methods applied to them. Chapter four then analyzes the linguistic features and text types of articles in Journal of Finance and Accounting. Chapter five takes these linguistic features and text types into consideration and takes Journal of Finance and Accounting as a case study, it explores and summarizes the principles and methods for the E-C translation of finance and economics articles from the perspective of text typology theory. The last chapter is a conclusion of this thesis.
