A Practice Report On C-E Translation Of Report On Poverty Alleviation Through Finance Of Agricultural Development Bank Of China (2016) Guided By Text Typology Theory

With the development of market economy,the use of the report has been gradually expanded.Exchanges in various fields at home and abroad have expanded rapidly in the process of globalization.The translation of reports in economy,politics,culture and other fields has often made at home and abroad during the exchange process.Therefore,higher requirements are asked for the translation quality and effect.The practice report discusses the C-E translation of Report on Poverty Alleviation Through Finance of Agricultural Development Bank of China(2016).The author analyzes the text function and language features as well as problems encountered in the translation.The translation problems in the practice mainly refer to three aspects:1)inaccurate text information conveyed,including political terms,culture-loaded words,four-character expressions and Chinese poetry translation;2)failure to adapt to idiomatic expressions of target readership,including the translation of title,repeated information and long and complex sentences;3)lack of discourse awareness,including function awareness in the discourse,structure awareness in the discourse and text feature awareness in the discourse.According to Reiss' Text Typology Theory,the report on poverty alleviation through finance belongs to an informative text.The author aims to put forward corresponding translation methods and techniques for the above mentioned problems under the guidance of Reiss' Text Typology Theory,which include paraphrase,transliteration plus annotation,omission,division,shift,thematic progression and concision.The tentative findings of this report are expected to provide enlightenment to the translation of report text.
