A Report On The English To Chinese Translation Of Complex Decision-Making In Economy And Finance(Excerpts) Under The Guidance Of Skopos Theory

Complexity science refers to a new interdisciplinary scientific method based on the development of natural and social sciences,aimed at promoting the study of complex systems to explain common realities and changes.It was only used in the1990 s and its rise was a significant paradigm shift in science.Therefore,there is still very little research on this discipline,and current research still revolves around a few research topics abroad,and the content that combines it with economics is even less.The translator was once a student majoring in economics,so the translation materials were selected from the book "Complex Decision Making in Economy and Finance" by ISTE Publishing House.This is a comprehensive book involving finance,management,and computer science,with a total of nineteen chapters.This translation practice mainly selects three chapters(Chapters 17 to 19)for English Chinese translation.This translation practice material is a non literary information text,which involves professional administrative management and financial knowledge,long and complex sentence structure,and rigorous structure.Therefore,under the guidance of Functionalism skopos theory,the translator applies the translation skills of word conversion,addition and reduction in terms of vocabulary;In terms of syntax,voice conversion is adopted,and translation division and word order adjustment methods are used to avoid translation intonation;In terms of discourse,lexical cohesion,reference,and substitution are used to achieve discourse cohesion and coherence.The report is divided into five parts,namely an introduction to translation practice,a description of translation process,translation guidance theory: Skopos theory,translation case analysis,and a summary of translation practice.Through the writing of this translation practice report,the translator has gained a better understanding of complexity science and also gained a deeper understanding of the guiding significance of Skopos theory in the translation of non literary texts,thereby enhancing their translation skills.In addition,it is hoped that the translated materials can provide certain reference value for research in the fields of complexity science,economics,finance,or management in China.
