This translation report is based on the translation practice of Golden Aging-Prospects for Healthy, Active and Prosperous Aging in Europe and Central Asia (excerpt) published by World Bank Group. It can direct the policy-making by studying the issues about aging in relative countries and regions in the setting of "the Belt and Road Initiatives". This book generally introduces the situation of aging and points out the reasons, influence, and future trend of aging in Europe and Central Asia. The translation of selected text can help to deal with aging and problems in the process of demographic transition.The author of the report firstly analyzes and concludes that the source text belongs to informative text from the perspective of text type theory of K. Reiss. And, the principles of accuracy and fluency are applied in the translating. The author focuses on the vocabulary and sentence to solve the problems during translation. For terms and proper nouns, the cross query is applied to keep them accurate; for complex sentences, methods and techniques such as shift, addition, division and combination are used to make sure that the translation of sentences are precise and fluent. At last, the lessons and shortcomings during translating are discussed.This translation report can provide related researchers with the first Chinese version of the source text, drive to spread the content of it and help people to know the condition of aging in Europe and Central Asia. At the same time, the searching skills, ability of theory application and translating competence of the translator can be promoted.
