Elliptical Flat-Sided Pot In Warring States To The Han Dynasty

In this thesis, the main objects of the elliptical flat-sided pot from the archaeological unearthed excavation of the Warring states to the Han Dynasty are study, supplemented by book collection and museum collection of flat-sided pot. First of all, the data of the elliptical flat-sided pot in this period is sorted according to their different materials. Secondly, distribution of summary elliptical flat-sided pot belly flat in this period,and summarize the evolution rule of the shape about flat pot and make the installment according to the material. Finally, while trace the source of the shape and explore the flow of shape, sum up the shape characteristics of the flat pot and to explore the function shortly.According to the analysis of the times and types about the elliptical flat-sided pot from the Warring states to the Han dynasty, we think that although the ceramic flat-sided pot objects appeared as early as the late neolithic age, the real fashioned flat pot appeared in the Warring states period which evolved by the copper. Compared with other similar objects, the most prominent feature of the flat pot is that it has a symmetrical ear and a ring ear expect the flat body. It can be seen that the flat pot is a kind of portable wine vessel. This function had changed slightly because of the influence of foreign culture in the Nanbei period. Since the Song dynasty, the flat-sided pot had became various and had different purposes.
