A large number of name of lacquerwares were recorded in the bamboo slips of the Chu tombs of Warring States period unearthed by archaeological excavations,most of which are recorded in the funeral documents,which became the important data of the research on the system of name of lacquerware in the pre-Qin period,the correspondence between name and article of the lacquerware and the early development history of lacquerware.This article intends to make reference to the funeral documengts of the Baoshan tomb No.2,Changtaiguan tomb No.1,Wangshan tomb No.2,Yangtian Lake tomb No.25,Caojiagang tomb No.5,Wulipai tomb No.406,Angang tomb No.1,Angang tomb No.2,Zenghouyi tomb,as well as some non-burial documents to classify and sort out the the name of lacquerware,and combine the lacquerwares unearthed in the tombs,focusing on investigating the name of lacquerware and the correspondence between name and article,carrying out the exegesis of the name of lacquerware,discussing the system of name of lacquerware,the use of lacquerware and the history and culture reflected by lacquerware of Chu area in the Warring States period.This paper is divided into three parts: the introduction,the main body and the conclusion.In the first chapter of the main body,the name of the lacquerware seen in bamboo slips of Warring States period are classified and interpreted according to the categories of diet,daily life,musical instruments,chariots and horses,and weapons.The second chapter consists of two sections.In the first section,the paper tries to analyze the functional attributes of the so-called "town tomb beasts" commonly found in Chu tombs,combining the funeral documents of Chu and the bronze square stand unearthed in the tombs of the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period.As a result,we think that the so-called "town tomb beasts" belong to daily life utensils and they may be used as home furnishings.The second section discusses the use of the "winding rod" unearthed in Chu's tomb,and believes that the "winding rod" has many uses such as shooting,string collecting,and string receiving.The third chapter discusses the records and naming characteristics of the name of lacquerware in the Warring States period and the food culture they reflect combined the name of lacquerware of the Western Han Dynasty.
