Study On Melancholy Words In The Book Of Songs

Among the vocabulary in“Book of Songs”, some are relatively noticeable, witch belong to the semantic field of “sadness and distress”,we call them “melancholy words”.There are differences and links in these words,and their sadness implication show differences in three aspects as original meaning,extended meaning and context meaning,their conceptual motivation share commonality in physiologically and psychologically.Also,these melancholy words emerge their links in etymology and pragmatics. Based on the above aspects,the paper supplements the use condition of melancholy words in the Book of Songs in modern Chinese and investigates the reasons of melancholy words appearing in the Book of Songs frequently from periphery level.All in all,except the introduction,the main contents were subdivided into six chapters.The first chapter is lexical meaning part,focus on inspecting word meaning.The second chapter is motivation part,discuss conceptual origin by according to word meaning.The third is relation part,study on “Book of Songs” melancholy words’ kinship and semantics-pragmatics relationship.The forth development part discussed the Residual condition of the Book of Songs melancholy words in modern Chinese.The fifth humanity part revealed the humanism connotation through proving intothe origin of melancholywords in the Book of Songs.The last epilogue,summarized the paper’s deficiency t and research contents.
