The Study On Wu Qiuhui And His Research Of "the Book Of Songs"

In the late Qing Dynasty,the update of academic ideas and a great number of unearthed ancient bronze,tortoise shells and utensils opened a new perspective for the study of “the Book of Song”.Scholars began to rethink the nature of “poetry”, and consciously paid attention to the use of new materials new methods or the new theory to study “the Book of Songs”.As a scholar during that times,Wu Qinghui’s research had to be influenced by the whole academic atmosphere.He can use advanced scientific methods to make outbreak. Although it is debatable about the conclusion he got by using ancient rhyme and inscriptions of ancient artifacts to interpret “the Book of Songs”, the research process still has its methodological significance.This paper aims to summarize Wu’s contribution to his research on the Book of Songs by systematically analyzing Wu Qiuhui’s life, works and other aspects, sorting out the items of Wu’s study of “the Book of Songs”,“Chai chi xuan shuo jing” and by extracting his methods of annotation. The paper consists of three parts :the introduction, the four sections and the conclusion.Introduction: this part is mainly about some information of Wu Qinghui,the present research on him and his academic achievements and the value or methods of this paper.The first section is about the life and works of Wu Qinghui.In this section,the paper introduced the life of Wu and his works.The second section is about the content of Wu Qinghui’s study on “the Book of Songs”.This section interpreted the problems of Wu Ginghui’s study on “the Book of Songs”, and some view of points about the relation of Confucius to “the Book of Songs” and “ six principles”, and then analyzed his entity noun interpreting in poems and his understanding to the meaning of poems.The third section is about Wu Qinghui’s study methods of “the Book of Songs”.Wu used many annotation methods,such as artifacts textual research,phonological research, psalm structure interpretation and textual research,textual research by the reference of history and customThe forth section is about the evaluation of Wu Qinghui’s study on “the Book of Songs”. Wu adopted many scientific methods to study “the Book of Songs” which had great value,but he still had limitation in excessively believing “the Book of Songs”and in abusing the interchangeable words.The conclusion made a summary about the research of this paper.
