The Reporting Of Italian Media On Confucius Institutes(2006-2015)

The Confucius Institute, a non-profit educational institutes, which provides Chinese language teaching and Sino-foreign cultural exchanges and cooperations, has attracted the attention of media andscholars at home and abroad since the rapid development. From the current study of domestic and foreign scholars we can know, the Confucius Institute study abroad is more concerned about its influence political, economic and cultural, as well as some scholars are concerned about the Confucius Institute’s own construction and development; the scholars at home is mainly concentrated in terms of comparative research and disseminating research. Studies from the perspective of public opinion at home and abroad of the Confucius Institute are relatively not so many.Public opinion tells public thinking, mostly expressed mainly through the media. In recent years, with the rapid development of mass media, its influence on public opinion has gradually expanded, especially the information on news site. Media reporting also becomes an important factor that affects the development of the Confucius Institute. This paper attempts to study on the reporting of Confucius Institute on Italian media network in ten years, on the one hand hope to give a further spread of the Confucius Institute study, on the other hand hope provide a refernce for the operation of the Confucius Institute media and communication strategy.According to the research topic, we searched on the Google Notizie (Google News) and after a secondary manual screening, we obtain 198 report samples with the heme of "Istituto Confucio (Confucius Institute)" by quantifying the content method, build the sample category Confucius Institute the number of reports, media level, in the form of reports, theme reports, media evaluations and high-frequency words after analysis found that Italy Confucius Institute network media attention has been improving, especially in the local media reported that the Confucius Institute has gradually become the main force, but mostly in the form of factual reports mainly concentrated in the Confucius Institute reported that the majority of self-construction and development as well as activities organized by the Confucius Institute, the media overall evaluation of the Confucius Institute is objective and neutral, more influential national mainstream media front evaluation more.Finally, on the basis of investigation and analysis, the paper Italy Confucius Institute Chinese language teaching, cultural events and building sites put forward a number of recommendations that the Confucius Institute can be more increased short-term special courses and exchange programs, and in the selection of cultural activities the more inclined to arts and cultural activities, especially in conjunction with the local stage art activities, on the one hand, the construction site and local media cooperation, on the other hand increase user interaction, so better to enhance the dissemination of the Confucius Institute for and effectiveness.
