“Listening, speaking, reading and writing” are the four basic language skills that a Chinese language learner must master, in the four language skills, because of the writing has a high requirement on the students,the students must master certain knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, text, cultural backgrounds and so on, so that they can be flexible enough to write a good article. Although intermediate Chinese level students have mastered the most basic grammar, but hey also have a lot of problems in the accurate use of words, paragraph structure, writing ideas and the overall convergence. And most of the foreign students are not interested in Chinese writing, for they think it is difficult. In addition to the actual classroom teaching,the teaching mode of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is not innovative, which is a writing teaching method used in the traditional Chinese classes, and it can not improve the students’ interest in writing.In view of above mentioned, this paper uses the process approach in the teaching of English writing as the guiding theory, using the questionnaire survey of some foreign students in the intermediate class of International Education College of Zhengzhou University for reference, and use “A Travel To Hong Kong” as the starting point to design the instruction,to discuss the application of the writing teaching mode based on the process approach in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The author hopes that through writing classroom teaching design and practice of application of the process approach in writing class, the Chinese learners can master the writing skills gradually,then improve their writing level effectively. Finally, the author reflects that the process approach in teaching Chinese as a foreign language of intermediate Chinese writing has some deficiencies, and she hopes it can play a promoting role in improving Chinese International intermediate writing teaching theory.
