A Report On Title Translation In Economic Field

Titles are the microcosm of the paper. Academic title translation attracts the eyes of related scholars. This paper is a C-E translation report on the basis of the writer’s experience of translating thousands of economic titles in the AMBA(Association of MBAs) International Certification Project. Combined with the translator’s subjectivity and source text analysis, this paper analyzes the strategies of economic title translation. The writer finds that the translator’s subjectivity is also appropriate for economic title translation due to the lexical and syntactic characteristics of economic titles, although economic title translation belongs to non-literary translation.The paper consists of four chapters.Chapter 1 is devoted to the project description, which presents the information of AMBA project and translation process.Chapter 2 focuses on text analysis, probing into the lexical and syntactic characteristics of economic paper titles as well as the translator’s subjectivity.Chapter 3 concentrates on case analysis. On basis of the text analysis and the translator’s subjectivity, the writer furthers the discussion of title translation in AMBA project mainly from two aspects by applying various translation strategies, including cases in light of lexical characteristics of economic titles and cases in light of syntactic characteristics of economic titles.Chapter 4 is the reflection part, including the summary, limitations and suggestions.
