A Practice Report On Interpreting For The Signing Ceremony Of Technology Cooperation Between China, Myanmar And Thailand

With further development of the One Belt One Road Initiatives, China and ASEAN countries has entered into the Diamond Ten Years of Corporation. Both sides are currently facing with the urgent task of upgrading industrial technology and structure. The 3rd Symposium on China—ASEAN Technology Innovation Policy was held in Nanning. On September 17,2015, with an aim to promote exchange on technology policy innovation, analyze current barriers on development and seek cooperation. The symposium involves many fields such as technology, policy and economy.This paper is a practical report on the interpreting for the signing ceremony of technology cooperation between China, Myanmar and Thailand aiming at sharing pragmatic and first-hand experience on conference consecutive interpreting with secondary interpreter. Background information are explained beforehand, then comes directly into the all pictures of interpreting process. Interpreting difficulties such as accent recognition, psychology adjustment, noting skills, interpreting skills etc are elaborated with case study. In order to sublime the paper in a theoretical level, the writer also analyzed noting feasibility, listening barriers, and political terms translation from academic perspective.
