Advance Preparation For Consecutive Interpreting

With the development in economy and the advancement in science and technology,globalization has already become an inevitable trend of the times.In the process of increasing globalization,interpreting activities have become more frequent,and the needs and requirements for interpreter in various cross-cultural exchange activities have gradually increased.The biggest difference between interpretation and translation is that former is performed on the spot.It requires interpreter to quickly analyze the source language in a very limited time,and through their interpretation to express the message that the speaker wishes to convey to the audience.Limited time and unfamiliar professional background pose great challenges for the interpreter.Because of this,adequate advance preparation is indispensable for interpreters to successfully complete the given interpreting work.The material selected in this interpretation practice report comes from an academic conference that the author personally participated in.All the case chosen were from the conference "Global Perspectives on China&Asia,Trade&:Commerce 1600-2000" held in Central China Normal University host by the school of History and Culture in December 2017.The thesis express points out significance of advance preparation,and illustrates why the interpreters shall do advance preparation and the main contents of advance preparation.Based on his preparation,the author analyze interpretation performance in details,with the hope of this practice can help the readers have better understanding of the effect of advance preparations brought on the interpretation and provide some experience and lesson for other interpreters.
