This translation report is based on the translation practice of Chapter one and Chapter four of Len Unsworth’s E-literature for Children:Enhancing Digital Literacy Learning. The book mainly discusses the application of digital resources in the classroom. The first chapter gives a general introduction to e-literature for children and children’s literacy learning in digital age; the fourth chapter mainly states how to use e-literature resources in enhancing children’s literacy learning and provides several approaches to improve the professional skills of in-service teachers. Eugene Nida pointed in his Functional Equivalence Theory that translation should be equivalent between the two languages and have the same effect among source text readers and target text readers. It is "dynamic equivalence" not "equivalence in forms", which means the translator should focus on the inherent meaning of the text rather than sentence structures and literal meanings of words. Based on the theory, the source text, features, translation strategies and the problems arising in the translation are analyzed and illustrated. The report is composed of four chapters:Chapter one is introduction to the translation task, consisting of the introductions to the source text, the author and the significance of the translation practice; Chapter two is translation process description, mainly describing the implementation of the translation task, including pre-translation preparation and proofreading etc.; Chapter three is case analysis which is the key part of this translation report. It mainly discusses how to achieve functional equivalence at the lexical, syntactic and textual level in the translation; chapter four is conclusion, summarizing how to deal with vocabulary, long and difficult sentences and cohesion problems. Besides, it provides some solutions to the problems appearing in the text, aiming at offering references for informative texts.
