The Research Of The Source And Usage Of "ShangQie"

The study object of this paper is "ShangQie" of which the Grammaticalization Process, Motivation and Mechanism are further discussed. And already, this article tries to discover ShangQie’s usage condition by describing its usage in modern Chinese from Grammatical, Semantic and Pragmatic aspects. The paper is divided into seven parts:The first chapter is Introduction. This paper makes a brief introduction of ShangQie’s research, include research contents, meaning of study, research current situation. At the same time, the paper will explain the main source of corpus by introducing the research method and theory are employed in this study.The second and third chapter, the paper makes a diachronic reviews by the Source and Development of the conjunction "ShangQie" according to the Grammaticlization Theory and shows that "ShangQie" is made up of "Shang" and "Qie".The two words which have the meaning of progressive and concession are incorporated with "ShangQie" after the respective vagueness of two words. "ShangQie" turns the coordinate phrases into an adverb and further become a conjunction. The main influencing factors and style of ShangQie’s grammaticalization are semantic coincidence, syntactic position analogy, enhancing the use of frequency, the effect of Chinese disyllabification.The forth and fifth chapter, the paper analyses ShangQie’s usage condition in modern Chinese from its usage separately and compatibly. First of all, this text is discuss the usage condition of ShangQie in detail from its syntactic position, semantic types and same meaning. Second, the paper discuss its usage separately when "ShangQie" is used in the anti-force of progressive sentence and contrast sentence, for example,"shangqie...hekuang,"shangqie...geng","shangqie...hai/you","shangqie...juran/jir an"and so on.The sixth Chapter is discuss the pragmatic features of "ShangQie". When differently syntactical structured, "ShangQie" takes on an entirely different meaning, so the peculiarities of its referential meaning determines it is in a connecting link between the preceding and the following. The ShangQie’s pragmatic function is incarnate in its subjectification, salience effect and the central position in the text.The seventh Chapter is the epilogue. The text combs the analysis in this paper thoroughly and hierarchical summary the conclusion previous discussion.
