Existential construction is a kind of relatively special Chinese construction, comparing with the construction of the subject-predicate structure has a big difference. So it is very different for foreign students when they learn this construction.At present, the 38 Nigeria international students who are learning Chinese in Soochow University have great interest in Chinese. So, Our research look them as study object,collects and analyzes their errors when they uses existential construction,and put forward the teaching strategies.The full text is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction,Including the reason for the selected topic, research methods, research contents and research summaries. The second part is the basic concept of existential constructions,which contains the definition of existential construction, classification of existential construction and scope.In the third part,the research analyzes similarities and differences between the Chinese existential construction and English existential construction.The analysis is in order to study the influence of mother tongue on the acquisition of existential construction.The fourth part is the analysis of errors, including the types of errors, the statistical errors and the reasons of errors. The fifth part is the strategies.This research put forward strategies from the perspective of teachers, textbook, classroom instruction and so on,and makes the instructional design of the existential construction. We hope that this research can help to decrease the rate of students’errors in Nigeria, effectively improve the students’ Chinese level.
