E-C translation of electric power engineering English contributes a lot to the introduction of advanced technologies abroad. To improve and assure the quality of translations, the author takes Eugene A. Nida’s “Dynamic Equivalence” as theoretical basis to demonstrate the application of Dynamic Equivalence to translation activity in the thesis. Being a research paper, the thesis mainly takes literature research and case analysis as its research method. According to the author’s translation practice, the thesis analyzes language features of electric power engineering English from lexical and syntactic level; on the basis of which, the thesis applies Dynamic Equivalence to translate English materials of electric power engineering. Research of the thesis indicates that Dynamic Equivalence is applicable to E-C translation of electric power engineering English; in addition, the thesis also put forward five practical and operational translation techniques under the guidance of Dynamic Equivalence. Hopefully the thesis can provide a new perspective and be as a reference for E-C translation of electric power engineering English. |
